Drill - Overview
Foot drill is confined to the movements used on regular detachment and company parades, rifle drill is confined to the few movements considered essential for carrying weapons.   If basic movements are properly taught, any extra movements required for ceremonial and other special occasions can be learnt in a short time by selected cadets. |
Drill - Star Levels
Up to 2-Star level, a cadets are taught movements as members of a squad.   At 3-Star level, cadets are taught to command a squad and move it between two points.   At 4-Star cadets are taught formal drill teaching practices. |
Turnout
Turnout, though only taught at Basic Training level, is constantly checked and the importance of care and cleaning of uniform and equipment is stressed at all times. |
Military Knowledge
Included to give cadets progressively widening military interests outside their detachments beginning with the Army Cadet Force as a whole and continuing with affiliated Regular and Reserve (TA) Regiments and Corps.   It is a subject which may be taught in combination with other subjects.   For example, to cadets who are waiting to fire or have fired on a range. |
