Cadets from C (Arakan) Company had the privilege of representing Wiltshire Army Cadets at The Rifles Conferment of the Freedom of Salisbury Parade on Saturday 20th November 2010. Forming up at about 10:00 hours, the Cadets formed a Guard as part of the main parade, centre and rear of the centre Regular Guard. The front rank of the Cadet Guard was inspected by Her Royal Highness the Duchess of Cornwall, Colonel in Chief of The Rifles and the centre and rear ranks were inspected by The Lord Lieutenant of Wiltshire. After the inspection, the parade through the streets of Salisbury began. A large crowd had formed and the Cadets, led by the Cadet Bugles, were the first to march through the crowd and past the saluting dias in front of The Guildhall. There were many positive remarks in both the crowd and the military dignitaries on the turnout and drill of the Cadets. The Duchess of Cornwall was very impressed by the Cadets and is keen to see them again. An excellent day all round!
