Remembering the Fallen, with Prince Harry Mon 8 Nov 10 Cadets from Wiltshire paraded and paid their respects at The Wootton Bassett Field Of Remembrance on Tuesday, near Swindon.   In a sombre ceremony, Prince Harry laid a cross for his friend Lance Corporal Of Horse, Jonathan Woodgate of The Household Cavalry Regiment, who died on active service in Sangin, Afghanistan in March of this year.   A two minute silence was observed in memory of the 342 servicemen and women, who have given their lives since the operation began in 2001. The Prince then met members of the March for Honour teams from the Royal Navy, Royal Marines, the Army and the Royal Air Force, before officially starting the second leg of the march to London.   The teams aim to raise 1 million pounds for the Royal British Legion.   When the starting hooter failed, The Prince gave a shout of “go” to get proceedings underway. He then met Lord Lieutenant’s Cadet, Colour Sergeant Sarah Hall and members of the Wiltshire Army Cadets, veterans and serving members of the armed forces.   Many veterans and serving personnel complimented the cadets on their high standard of turnout.   The highlight of the day for the 22 cadets from Wootton Bassett and Church Place Detachments was meeting Prince Harry, who stopped and talked to each one of them, shaking hands with most of the cadets.   Cadets also saw The Prince on Sunday at St Bartholomew’s Church, Wootton Bassett, where he was a surprise guest at the afternoon Remembrance Service.
