B (Anzio) Company Training Weekend

Sat/Sun 8/9 May 10

B (Anzio) Coy arrived at Tilshead full of enthusiasm for the weekend ahead.   This was our first full training weekend of the year.   For many of the cadets, this was their first weekend.   After the initial administrative tasks were completed all training commenced.

Recruits had a very demanding programme with Skill-at-Arms, Shooting, Fieldcraft, Drill and Turnout, Expedition Training and Map and Compass.   The One and Two Star cadres had just as active a programme of Fieldcraft, Map and Compass and Expedition training.

The Two Star cadre were deployed in the area of the Water Tower for the fieldcraft element facing a long night in a tactical location.   The Recruits and One Star cadres were also sleeping out in tents.   For some, this was their first experience of sleeping outdoors. One which they all agreed was an enjoyable and fun.

A series of team games occupied the Recruit and One Star cadres on the Saturday evening, using up the last the cadets' energy reserves before turning in for the night.

The consensus among the cadets and adults was that all thoroughly enjoyed the weekend.   Special thanks to SI Gosling, whose birthday was on the Saturday, providing the excuse for the addition of cake to supplement the ration packs.   Credit goes to all instructors who provided a first class training weekend.
