The training has now reached the final weekend, again in Dartmoor Nation Park, but this time staying at Willsworthy camp on the western edge of the moor. This time the team hopefuls were left to set up camp, cook and be ready at the set time given. They had a rainy Friday evening as they settled in for the night.
The weather on the first day took a turn for the worse, with cold winds, heavy showers and at times some stinging hail stones, the cadets had a hard time navigating the route. All did very well, wet but in good spirits both the junior and senior teams returned to camp. Day two was more relaxed with some first aid training, kit and cooking lectures, and then the individual interviews for team selection.
With all 12 team members picked they all go onto the event itself lets hope they all get over the finish line on time which you are all welcome to come and see on the 11th May 09.
