Exercise DRAGON VENTURER CALPE 2009 was a Shropshire ACF climbing/cycling expedition to the Costa Blanca area of Spain, home to some of the best rock climbing in Europe. The expedition was based in the La Asmoladora Villa, located in the beautiful Jalon Valley, north of Calpe. The aims of the exercise were:
(1) To introduce ACF Instructors and cadets to multi pitch rock climbing and cycling.
(2) To give cadets a chance to gain the Basic Rock Climbing Certificate or the Rock Climbing Proficiency Award.
(3) To give cadets the chance to gain a Basic Cycling Award.
