Due to the severe weather conditions we experienced in the early part of February the original weekend to the Brecon Beacons was cancelled but the training continued!!
The day involved a walk in and around the Avebury area visiting the Kennet Long Burrow an ancient burial site and Tan Hill one of the highest points in Wiltshire. The walk was of around 6 miles but with the snowy conditions, at times knee deep, it was very hard going especially at the front trail blazing. We had a cold windy lunch stop so a snowman building competition warmed us all up.
Now all the team hopefuls will go onto the first Dartmoor phase of the Ten Tors training where a short list of team members will be selected.
